I LOVE THE QUICK ACTION BUTTONS FOR DESKTOP! You just made ahome undoubtably in my opinion the best damn home app available!

Here is a idea I had: If you could make a version where users can make there own themes by changing dock styles and dock bars, changing the app draw style, and easly upload there own icons etc. Then have an option of saving it as a custom theme and option of loading to android market to share or even a websight for “user made themes” many of us would appreciate that.

Where does one start on creating their own ADW themes?

I commented before on this bug, and it’s still around in ADW 1.3.5. When holding down the Search button on the phone, ADW Launcher tries to open up BING Voice Search. I don’t have Bing loaded on my phone so instead it’ll say “Application is not installed on your phone.” and nothing will happen. Even if I run an app to redirect my search button long press, ADW will still try to open up Bing. This only happens in your latest ADW launchers, they do no happen in older versions or if I have any other apps. I have had this confirmed by several other users.

One last thing, is there a way for the app draw to show the name of the group you are in? Maybe on the bottom next to the arrows that switch between the groups. Also maybe have a desktop icon or another shortcut that brings you directly to a certain group. Was also thinking if possible to change the default group that opens from last used to a specific one. I would love to be able to have mine set to go to the group of apps that has my most used apps in it that I set up.

Love the new update, especially the ability to drag, edit the AB icons! As far as the new QuickAction feature, can this be toggled on and off?

I’d like 2 sere an option to set the desktop icons and widgets semi-transparent, globally if not on a per object basis.
there’s a problem with layout on devices with non-standard DPI, namely, the center button of the action buttons sits low and to the right (no double-entendre intended).
the quickaction popup doesn’t need to new the full length of the screen to holds just 3 buttons, does it?

Ahh, one more issue I noticed, but didn’t comment on before. When doing Previews of your homescreens, it only looks right when using Sense Style Previews, if you turn this off and opt for the Previews to be lined up at the bottom of the screen, they are pushed to the right rather than centered, making only your left most homescreens accessible by Previews.

Since the last update I am finding myself frustrated with the combination of the Hidden Dockbar and the new ability to drag an item for quick actions. What I am finding is when I want to pull up the hidden dockbar I always end up dragging an icon from the main dockbar. When I click the icon I want in the hidden dockbar the program returns, but when I return to the homescreen, the icon that got dragged is now gone, it was deleted. It is usually the middle app launcher button as I usually drag up to bring up the hidden dockbar in the middle. I find it quite annoying and would like the option to turn off the drag quick actions, at least for item in the dockbar(s).

ADW Notifier not working since updating launcher. GMail count keeps disappearing. Was working before. Pity.Also got to agree with the flicking of the dockbar problem.

The new lock feature is good but need to be improved.
The main dock control should also be locked because most times i click on icon, but slide the finger a little bit down, the main dock is hidden …

There’s bug or maybe not but i still add an icons from the app drawer so Desktop is lock or not?

Awesome launcher, only thing is like is for you not to be able to add Apps to the desktop while locked as well

But I have a question:

After installing the ADW.Launcher I no longer have access to my GTask Widget.

Is there a reason just a specific Widget would disappear from the widgets menu?

Loving your launcher!! However, since flashing a Froyo NAND rom to my HD2 I can no longer select what options to have for the Power Control widget nor can I make it transparent..

thank you adw.launcher standard. it has been my most preferred launcher since i got my EVO in July. I’m also very impressed with EX. its a shame you were unable to maintain a fully opensource project in todays environment.

I do have an issue however. on my default homescreen, there is only the wallpaper and a clock visible most of the time. i have 2 transparent icons in use. i use swipe to hide the notification bar and the bottom secondary dockbar is blank…so i swipe it up to get a no bars visible look.
the issue, is since we are now able to replace the center button at will, is that it has become ‘unsticky’. thus when i try to swipe up the bottom dock bar the ‘show app drawer’ icon pops off the main bar and ends up on the secondary dock bar. so i have delete it, pull the other bar back and replace it. its ez to fix. but would it be possible to allow for a “Lock Bottom Bars” setting in addition to “lock all” setting? i’m trying to get better about how i swipe, but my thumb seems dumb.

I seem to have issues long pressing and getting the dialog with “edit” to show up, Is there a trick to get it to work consistently. I press and press sometimes and I can’t get the dialog to pop up at all.

Really like ADW, but got a Nexus S a couple weeks ago and it is just out of control FC. I imagine its just because you haven’t had time/resources to debug against 2.3. Hope you do soon as I would really like to get back to it. Heck, I would like to pick up ADW Ex, but until I know its working better on 2.3 I am waiting and using stock.

Again, great great app, but please find time soon to get it working more stable on 2.3 =)

I’m sure that I’ve read that ADWLauncher free is licensed as open source (and, in your Google Code project page, it’s announced as Apache 2.0 license), but it can be outdated…

Can you tell me if is there a way to get the source code? If you want, we can talk by e-mail or Twitter (@_Lk2) and I’ll explain you the reason I want to see the code, if it’s available.

Love your launcher application. One major issue I have is that I usually use 1 to 2 homescreens. I would like to have the option to disable the homescreen preview completely. (ex. pinch gesture on a homescreen) It gets annoying that I accidentally tap two fingers on a homescreen and the previews shows up on ONE screen, which is not necessary at all.

I’ve been using ADW as my launcher and have taken a look at a few others, but still keep coming back. Going to look into the pay version on your site so I can pay via paypal, rather than on my cc. The only issue that I have come across in this update is my notification bar sometimes disappears. This isn’t all the time, and I haven’t been able to figure out what combination of gestures or “keystrokes” make this happen. I can often get it back and have it stay by restarting the launcher, but sometimes is goes away right away, sometimes not. I’m running stock 2.1 on a samsung captivate. I personally love the supported themeing of ADW.

Is there any other way to purchase you lanchbar, here in the states for security reason, my bank does not take over seas orders, tried 3 credit cards. No good, they were not validated because they are not from us. Not my rule, if you can give me some advice on other ways I would be grateful.

I’ve been playing with it for hours and trying stuff
I just notices that whenever i move from one screen to the other on the desktop it puts all widgets in low resolution while doing it… I’m on an HTC DHD unrooted, checked if the Sense was going the same but it doesn’t…..

any idea what can it be?? is it someone having the same problem?

First of all, great work on ADW Launcher, I love it. The only thing I’m having an issue with on my new Droid 2 Global is that when the phone turns on, it defaults to the very right-most home screen. In my case, this is the 3rd screen, because I only have 3 enabled as that suits my needs thanks to allowing us to get more than a 4×4 homescreen. Can’t find anything in the settings about it.

Still the best launcher out there imho.

FYI I am rooted but no custom ROM installed. Renamed all bloatware with ADB to achieve a pretty vanilla stock ROM.

I remarq in the preferences of ADWLauncher, I don’t have the option to choose the number of screen, it isn’t in “screen preference” as it’s written.

Someone can tell me where I can select the number of screen?

I just want 4 screens, not 5 by default.

I can’t find this in google market? I used to have it on 2.1 and loved it, just installed 2.2 and went to get it and its not there.. i tried using appbrain to grab it and it can’t find it either!

Samsung Galaxy S, ROM XXJPY, Frojo 2.2.1

First, love your launcher! I only have two minor issues on my EVO 4G.

1. Even though I uncheck “Wallpaper Scrolling” whenever I add a picture as my wallpaper it still crops the right/left side of the picture (in other words it stretches the picture across 3 desktops even though the wallpaper will NOT actually scroll when you move from desktop screen to screen.

Sorry to see that it’s not available to Archos users? I cannot find it in the market, nor in the appslib? Maybe it’s a good idea to put the APK on your site too?

I love the launcher, keep the good work.
If i can make just a tiny suggestion it would be great if i could set the desktops so that they loop around.
For example if i have 3 desktop (a, b,and c) and if i try to move to the right of “c” ill end up on “a” and to the right of “a” would be “b” and then “c”; and then “a” again.

I hope this make any sense.

Hello everyone,

I used many launchers and found adw to be the best. No other launcher in my opinion gives that many options to choose from. But there are a few things that I would like the developer to take care of if he could. Is there a way to permanently hide the main dock when I open the app drawer? In lpp, the dock doesn’t remain open when I open the drawer. I do see a home button, but there’s an option for turning that off. I know about the swipe option to bring up the dockbar, but I don’t want to have to do that every single time. Secondly, is there a way to make the dockbar the main dock, as it resembles the zeam dock which I love? Finally, can I have 7 home screens instead of 5? Should I buy the ex version?
